Since 2023, over a hundred churches and Christian schools have held candidate forums for their state or federal elections, supported by Freedom for Faith.
Here are just a few of the many testimonials we have received from churches and candidates.

Crossway has chosen to host Candidate Forums on multiple occasions. These are non-partisan events which have been positively engaged with. I see several benefits coming from hosting such events. It puts the church on the radar with the politicians and helps to build a positive repour with them. Our people have an opportunity to ask their questions and to hear from the politicians that they will ultimately be voting for. Our Christian faith requires that we operate as “salt and light” and an informed vote is an important part of that function.
I encourage other churches and leaders to consider hosting a Candidate Forum and to use it as an opportunity to strengthen their relationship with their local candidates.
Dale Stephenson
Senior Pastor, Crossway Baptist Church, Victoria
The Candidate Forum was a surprise blessing for our church, as it enabled us to make important contacts with both politicians and political-types within our community. It showed that our church cared for our society and for critical issues, and it helped show that the Christian voice is important to be heard as politicians woo voters for support. The event was surprisingly simple to run, with nearly everything provided for us ‘in a box’ by Mike, who offered terrific support in every way.
I wholeheartedly recommend that Senior Ministers partner with Freedom for Faith in this simple, yet powerful community engagement opportunity.
Rev Jodie McNeill
Senior Minister (former), Jamberoo Anglican Church, NSW

This event was a valuable opportunity to engage with our community, fostering thoughtful discussion and civic participation.
I am deeply grateful for the exceptional support provided by Freedom for Faith. Their comprehensive guide to running the event, personal assistance, and expert advice made the process smooth and straightforward. From publicity and contacting candidates to providing set questions and a clear outline for the night, their guidance was thorough and reliable every step of the way.
This partnership enabled us to run a successful and impactful event, and I highly recommend Freedom for Faith to anyone considering hosting a similar forum.
Rev Brett Bovey
Assistant Minister, Keppel Anglican Church, Queensland
on behalf of the Capricorn Coast Combined Churches
During the election campaign, Freedom for Faith held many forums throughout New South Wales about the bill and many other issues. In my electorate, that took place at Hoxton Park Anglican Church… It was well informed, and I still receive positive feedback about that forum to this day.
I have regular discussions with Freedom for Faith, with that church and with the pastor from that church, and I will continue to do so.
Nathan Haggarty MP
Labor Member for Leppington, NSW
From Hansard of a speech in NSW Parliament
I was impressed by the organisation of the event, the sense of community, and the generosity shown towards all the candidates. I was aware that my political and social views were not shared by many of those present, however, everyone treated me with civility and respect and I’m very grateful for that. I declare democracy as the winner on the night
